The parish council takes a hammering!
The recent questionnaire results were very critical of the parish council for not publishing enough information about it's meetings, decisions and finances
We can soon put that right!
Click on the link below to have a look at the parish council web page and minutes of all the recent meetings
including details of payments, bank balances etc
If you want to find out first hand what is going on you can attend a council meeting. Just go to the parish council web page and contact the parish clerk
The chairman of the parish council, Ken James is featured in the March Bridgerule Buzz and he also gave some information on recent council activity
Within a few days of the council contacting Torridge DC about the potholes on the main Launceston road they were mended and this week the ones on the Bridgerule to Newacott road have been repaired

Bridgerule
Parish Plan
The questionnaire results are back
A big thank you to everyone who completed the questionnaire
189 questionnaires were completed which represents a huge 67% of the 280 questionnaires delivered
The replies have been independently analysed by Devon County Council to make absolutely sure they are correctly
illustrated in the Parish Plan document when it is published
Please keep looking at the website and the Buzz to see how things are progressing
The Parish Plan steering group are going through the answers to ensure all the extra comments are taken in to account.
They wanted the results to be available to everyone in the
village as soon as possible so click the link below if you would
like to see the preliminary results
Click here if you would like to see the draft results of the questionnaire

Another successful Bridgerule Litterpick
The third Bridgerule litterpick took place on Saturday 20th February.
The new year litterpick had to be cancelled because the rubbish was covered with snow !
Several bags of litter were collected, although not as many as the previous times so it must be working
As always the hard work was followed by tea and biscuits in the hall
The litter pick was one of the requests made to the Bridgerule Tomorrow
Group and Chris and Rose Hitchens immediately took up the
challenge to make sure it actually happened

Accident on the Red Post to Launceston road
Fortunately no one was hurt when a truck carrying 20 tonnes of gravel swerved off the road shortly before Christmas
The accident happened between the old railway bridge and Bevills Hill and closed the road for a whole day
A digger unloaded part of the load of gravel and cleared the mud from under the truck so it could be winched out

The Halloween Disco in the hall brings in the crowds
A superbly decorated hall and some horribly frightening individuals greeted the crowds that attended the halloween disco
And that was just the people taking the money on the door
You then had to go through the black tunnel to see the best pumpkin and the best costume competition.
There was a discount on the entrance fee for dressing up so, as you would expect in Bridgerule, nearly everyone dressed up!
Click on the grave stone to see the halloween photos - if you dare!

Country and Western night nets big bucks for the Air Ambulance
An extremely successful Country and Western evening was held at the Parish Hall on Saturday 24 October
It was a complete sell-out with standing room only by the time the main attraction, “The Cornish Hillbillies” made it on to the stage
An extremely skilful and colourful display of line dancing was put on by a number of local people dressed appropriately in country and western outfits
Just as impressive was the amount raised, £631.82 for Devon Air Ambulance. Well done to everyone who worked so hard to put it on!

Bridgerule Open Gardens
Once again keen gardeners opened their gardens on Sunday 28th
June to raise money for the Devon and Cornwall Air Ambulances
The event was a spectacular success with £1920 being raised
There was also an event held at 'Kildare' Bridgerule in aid of
cancer research on Sunday 12th July which made over £800. The final amount is
not sorted yet as they are taking all the un-sold items to a Car Boot sale in the
hope of making a bit more.
John and Jean Hammond opened up their garden again with various
stalls, games, light lunches and cream teas etc.
John's amazing collection of old tools was on display with a
"guess what it was used for" table.
